Our cottages have been holiday cottages for many years with constant updating to ensure they are well equipped, comfortable and allow a stress free stay. We have 6 cottages which will sleep up to 37 people, some with ensuite bathrooms and all with facilities to ensure you have a relaxing stay. You do not have to take all the cottages but the three cottages closest to the Barn which sleep 18 people in 9 bedrooms in total do have to be hired with the Barn.

For either overnight guests or chance to use the camping field to make your wedding especially unique over the weekend.

We have a small hideaway site with toilets and showers which is perfect for you to offer to your guests the chance of a weekend stay without worrying about transport or for you to plan a festival style wedding. We have suggested suppliers for bell tents if you wish to offer those to your guests.

Gorwell Barn gives the perfect opportunity for you to plan your wedding in whatever style you wish making it completely your own designed event. We give you as much or as little support you need  with suggested suppliers and ample inspiration.

We love our location. So quiet secluded and secret… It really is a Dorset hidden gem where we can offer you a blank canvas wedding venue for you to create your own style and have the day you have dreamed about.

To ensure everyone is relaxed is our aim. You have the Barn for three days so you really can express who you are as a couple. You have chance to allow your own tastes and preferences to shine through in every detail. Take your time and enjoy the whole three days making it a shared event rather than watching the clock.

The Barn itself is registered for legal ceremonies as are the immediate grounds around the Barn and the pagoda situated in our pretty wooded area close to the Barn. You can chose where you have your ceremony so making it feel unique and highly personal.

To ensure plans and day runs smoothly

We do not want you to worry about if the music is playing at the right time or if the lights are not switched on so we include within the rate  a coordinator who meets with you beforehand to get to know you, and how you would like the day to run, and then is at the barn on the day to make sure that happens.

The views we have from the farm are stunning. As you enter the farm road Golden Cap and the rolling Dorset hills are in front of you, and behind you is the fabulous view of the Jurassic Coast from Abbotsbury to Portland and Weymouth. Lyme Bay stretches around us and then looking inland we have unspoilt countryside. We also have gorgeous wooded areas which in the spring are full of bluebells and wild flowers. The mellow stonework of the buildings also make a perfect backdrop. The list is endless as are the opportunities for unique photo settings.

We were concerned that a major part of the family wedding also included all ages and mobilities so we have made a pathway specifically for those who cannot make the steps to the woodland ceremony siting ensuring no one is excluded from helping you celebrate. Accessible facilities in the Barn plus a cottage with a wetroom, accessible toilets and groundfloor bedrooms ensures all your family and friends can be with you to enjoy the day.

Our family who span 3 generations are involved in the business in some way which then ensures we all try our hardest to make sure all is right and our guests are happy.
