Visit the Subtropical Gardens, the Swannery and the Tithe Barn Children’s Farm. There are also many interesting craft shops to visit and tea rooms to enjoy an afternoon tea. The famous St Catherine’s Chapel is situated on the hill overlooking the sea. St Catherine is the patron saint of spinsters and a prayer in the chapel on the wall must be said to ask for help finding a husband!

Subtropical Gardens are very close to the beach and are filled with rare and exotic plants from all over the world.

Swanage Steam Railway

Enjoy a trip on this family-friendly premier heritage steam railway. It’s a real treat and also a fantastic way to visit our local Dorset attractions. The route takes travellers through 6 miles of beautiful scenery from Corfe Castle to Swanage. Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park

Beautiful gardens and also an animal park are situated at Dorchester’s college. The gardens are Grade 11 listed and are set around the house. Abbotsbury Swannery

Visit this unique Swannery it is also the only place in the world where you can walk through a colony of nesting Mute Swans.

The Tank Museum Bovington

The Tank Museum is the home of the Royal Tank Regiment and Royal Armoured Corps. Visit the powerful exhibitions and get a chance of hands on experience with the army and The Rifles.

Lyme Regis Fossil Hunting

Visit and furthermore, support Monkey World, an ape rescue centre situated very close by. This centre is not just an attraction but plays an important role as a rescue centre. Monkey World assists around the world in the rescue of primates.
