About Gorwell Farm
A little bit about us
Gorwell Farm Cottages are found in our own secret wooded valley just 2 miles from the village of Abbotsbury and Chesil Beach. Fantastic views of the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline stretch around you when you enter the farm road and the South West Coastal Path runs across the top of the farm.
Tucked away down a private well maintained lane, Gorwell offers a quiet, peaceful location rich with bird life including numerous songbirds, varied wildlife and wild flowers and the night light being from the stars and the moon. However we are only 10 miles from the county town of Dorchester, seaside town of Weymouth, the National Sailing Academy at Portland and the market town of Bridport.
Gorwell Farm provides an all year round ideal base from which to explore one of the finest unspoilt counties of England. It is a family mixed farm and we aim to farm in an environmentally sound manner. We try and work with the old saying that we have not inherited this world from our ancestors but we are borrowing it from our children.
Why Gorwell Farm is right for your holiday
We are passionate about providing good customer service and a pleasurable stay at Gorwell.
Each cottage is comfortably furnished to a high standard and has central heating, with a log burner in the living room. Outside, the fenced garden has garden furniture, where its perfect to sit and relax or enjoy a barbeque. If you have to bring your work with you or you want to bring your laptop to plan what to do on holiday then all the cottages have WiFi access. Play areas for children are situated within an easy distance and the all weather surface tennis court is available for all guests to use.
On our website you can visit each cottage to chose which best suits your needs whether it is for just 1 or 2 people or for larger families or groups of friends and family holidaying together. We can accommodate family parties, small wedding parties and craft courses in our stone barn but if you are hiring the barn for a ‘do your own wedding’ or party three cottages must be hired as well.
Visitors are welcome to help with the animals by prior arrangement but as this is a working farm we do ask that children are well supervised at all times.
